The coffee on the Island was introduced in the 18th century. CABO VERDE coffee is 100% organic, produced in the fertile soil and humid climatic conditions that are perfect for producing coffee. Here the best months for harvesting coffee is February and March.

The introduction of the vineyard and the production of wine in Cape Verde dates back to the 16th century. The Island of Fogo was discovered to have the best potential for the cultivation of the wine in the Archipelago. The best known wine is Chã das Caldeiras and is called Manecon, a traditional, semi-sweet, homemade wine.
